The Top Ten Aquarius Zodiac Flowers

By Lady Saoirse

Learn about ten powerful Zodiac flowers for Aquarius and how you can use them for spirituality and magic.

Aquarians are born between January 20 and February 18. They are the most inventive signs in the zodiac, and they are fiercely independent. No two Aquarians are exactly alike because they are unique individuals who live their lives on their own terms. They are highly creative and manage to find ways to make their own rules, and they seem to have an endless line of adoring fans following every step they take. They can become quite angry if questioned, and sometimes lack the ability to be team players, only wanting to do things their own way. They manage to create their own teams and they try to create a better world. Their individualism, creativity, and energy to forge ahead with new things is their strongest magic, and there are special zodiac flowers they can use to make their magic even more powerful including a rose garden, dahlia, and mimosa flowers.

A Rose Garden

A Rose Garden

If every sign could be characterized by a rose, Aquarians would be an entire rose garden instead of a single rose plant. Rose gardens are known as rosariums, and are professionally cared for, open to the public places where multiple roses are grown. Ancient China, Greece, Babylon, and other places had rose gardens hundreds of years ago. One example of a famous rose garden is at Mottisfont Abbey in Hampshire, England. There, an Augustinian monastery was founded in 1201, and it was shut down under King Henry VIII during the dissolution of the Abbeys. The land was given to a statesman who chose not to demolish the abbey, and today, the property is visited for its gardens, and its roses. Surprisingly, this old property’s rose garden was not started until 1972, but it is known as one of the most beautiful in the world.

In ancient Rome, Cupid was the god of passionate love, desire, and affection. A myth says he spilled some wine and where the wine fell, a rosebush grew. Other stories say he spilled wine on white roses, turning them red, and symbolizing passion. Ancient Romans scattered roses on the ground and brides and grooms would be crowned with roses. Believed to draw love, roses were scattered on the floors by Cleopatra when she wanted Mark Antony to be her lover. Roses symbolize love and passion and are used in love spells to ignite desire.

One garden rose will keep an Aquarian happy, but Aquarians have the personality to want a beautiful variety of things and experiences in life. They are complex individuals who enjoy the beautiful diversity the world has to offer, and they understand there is no point in committing to just one experience when you can enjoy a plethora of them. A rose garden can be planted to magically keep the home filled with love. Not every Aquarian will have a green thumb, let alone enough time to care for an entire garden of their own, but that doesn’t mean they can’t do magic with rose gardens. An Aquarian can take somebody who they want to be lovers with for a romantic walk in a rose garden to arouse amorousness. Rose gardens can be visited when you are feeling lonely to absorb their love drawing abilities, and you can take a single petal from a rose in a rose garden with you to draw love to yourself. Plumeria

Native to Central America, Mexico, Brazil, the Caribbean, and Florida, the plumeria flower grows on shrubs that have made it all the way to India and Bangladesh, where they are considered sacred. Also called the frangipani, the flowers come in white, pink, yellow, orange, and purple. The flowers are very fragrant, but they have no nectar, and the flowers themselves don’t contain seeds. The plant is often propagated from cuttings, and it can take as long as three years for a new plant to flower. They are famously used in Hawaii to make floral necklaces known as leis, and the plant blooms for about three months. There are about 300 different varieties of plumeria with some growing as shrubs and others being trees that can grow up to 30 feet tall.

Plumeria is famously used to make the popular Nag Champa incense, which is a combination of plumeria and sandalwood. Nag Champa is used to purify spaces. Plumeria flowers indicate relationship status for Polynesian women. If worn over the right ear, it means she is open to a relationship but if it is worn over the left ear, it means she is in a relationship. In some parts of Asia, it is believed that ghosts take shelter in plumeria blooms, and the Mayans believed the plumeria represented feminine sexuality and fertility. Hindus in Bali use plumeria flowers as offerings in temples.

Aquarians can use the love drawing magic of plumeria. A single Aquarian can wear a sweetly scented plumeria blossom in their hair to attract lovers. They can use nag champa incense to cleanse their home, sacred spaces, garden, or even to cleanse their own energy. Light a stick of nag champa incense before you pray or do ritual as a way to cleanse all negativity from your sacred space. Lais made of plumerias can be used in wedding ceremonies to signify uniting the bride and groom in love. Plumeria can also be given as offerings to goddesses or female ancestral spirits to express your love for them.

Sea Holly

Sea Holly

The unique sea holly is also called eryngium maritimum. It grows native along coastlines across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East and is known for its thistle like appearance. The flowers are spiny, and the leaves are leathery. It is not a pretty plant, but its beauty lies in its bristles and the fact that it is so unusual. It is a very strong plant, tolerant of low soil nutrient levels, being buried in sand, frost, heat, salt, and high wind. Its strength lies in its deep roots and ability to extend under the surface of the sand, breaking through the ground to the oxygen and light.

The plant was believed to be created by the god Eros to protect himself while he was battling other gods. The ancient Celts used it to ward off evil and bring good luck. Sea holly symbolizes the end of journeys and new beginnings. They are also used in magic and rituals for helping find one’s path in life. The roots have been used to make candy and to treat liver problems, cramps, and convulsions. It is carried for safety and good luck on journeys.

Aquarians seem to always be beginning some new project or another, and the sea holly can magically help them to succeed. Carry dried sea holly in a bag with you as you begin something new for luck. If you are going somewhere that you know negative people will be, carry some dried sea holly in your pocket to ward off their negativity. Carry it when you go to court to help you win a case and use a dried sea holly floral arrangement as a centerpiece at gatherings when family members who are known to fight will be together. It can help keep the energy calm and the attendees more civil. Read more about aquarius here: Aquarius Zodiac Traits and Love Compatibility

Dahlia

Native to Central America and Mexico, there are about 50 species of dahlias, but savvy gardeners have produced over 20,000 different kinds of them. They come in every color of the rainbow and in sizes ranging from the tiny pom pom dahlia with a 1 ½ inch bloom to the dinnerplate dahlia whose flowers can grow up to twelve inches in diameter. Dahlias grow from tubers underground and can be used for food. In cold regions, the tubers are lifted from the ground before winter, and stored away until they can be placed in the ground to grow again the following spring. In warm regions, dahlias are kept in the ground, and they grow back on their own every year.

In Oaxaca, the tubers are still eaten as a vegetable, and in Central America they are roasted to create a flavoring for drinks called dacopa which tastes similar to mocha. They have been used medicinally to treat diabetes. Dahlias symbolize standing out from others because of how they beautifully make a statement. They also represent strength and stability. They draw luck and positivity and bring joy. Dahlias also represent creativity.

Aquarians are perhaps the most creative zodiac sign, but even the most creative of people experience a creative block from time to time. Put a vase of dahlias in your workspace when you seek inspiration or take a break to walk among the dahlias to reset your mind. Aquarians are some of the most unique individuals there are, and the dahlia can make them stand out even more. Wear a dramatic dahlia in your hair or on your lapel to be more noticeable and give a gift of dahlias to someone who you want to be more noticeable to. For meditation, gaze into the blossom of a single dahlia, focusing on all the various petals and shapes it takes. Journal what messages and realizations from this come to you.

Mimosa Flower

There are about 1200 different species of mimosa shrubs and trees, with as many different blossoms. They are native to Asia, the Middle East, parts of Europe, South and Central America, and they are grown in other parts of the world for their beauty. In some places such as Hawaii, the tree spreads so quickly it is considered invasive by some people. Other people love the fact it grows so fast and they find it satisfying that its shade and flowers are available so soon after it is planted. Some mimosas only grow to be about 16 feet tall, while others grow to be up to 40 feet tall. The flowers are often fizzy and pink, resembling silk strands, but some mimosas have clusters of lovely yellow flowers.

The mimosa tenuiflora is one variety of mimosa and it is used to create ayahuasca. It is used in spiritual journeying and to learn mystical truths. So, for some, the mimosa symbolizes spirituality, and mystical revelations. To others it represents finding a deep understanding of the universe as a whole and to others it represents connection to all of creation. The tree represents happiness and expanding your life. It also represents broadening your mind and opening yourself to new experiences. It balances mood, and lifts sadness.

Unless you can make it to a place where professional holy people create ayahuasca, it is not recommended you try to create your own, but the mimosa can still be used for magical journeying. Sit beneath a mimosa tree and still your mind for a moment. Visualize yourself surrounded by nature and know that you are one of many beings on the planet. Open your awareness to everything around you. Hear the wind, feel the grass and soil beneath your feet, and listen to the sounds that birds, and other creatures create. Feel the interconnectedness all life has to the earth and to one another. Do this meditation often to magically connect yourself to the planet and all life upon her. Trillium

Native to parts of Asia and North America, more trilliums grow in the Appalachian Mountains of America than anywhere else on earth. There are about 50 species of trillium and they come in purple, burgundy, red, pink, yellow, and white. They are grown from seed, and this happens in a fascinating way. Ants are drawn to the seed covering, and they carry the seeds back to their homes. They eat the covering and throw out the seeds. The seeds grow typically no more than a meter away from the original plant their seed came from. Yellow jackets also disperse trillium seeds.

Trilliums are named for the fact they have three petals on their flowers and have been used medicinally to aid in birthing and to stop bleeding. They are called birth root because they were so highly valued to treat female reproductive system issues. They have been used to help expel the placenta after birth. Trillium can be planted to create a magical boundary, warding off all harm, and protecting the property and all the people and animals who live there. To some Christians, trilliums symbolize The Holy Trinity, and to others white trilliums symbolize innocence. They represent luck and a hopeful future and are used in wedding bouquets.

The trillium is endangered, and it usually dies if it is dug up and planted anywhere besides where it sprouts, so it is not recommended to try and pick or transplant a trillium. They can be purchased at garden centers like this one Trillium grandiflorum Large-flowered Trillium | Prairie Moon Nursery. Plant your trillium in full or part shade and remember to be patient because it can take as long as five years for a trillium to grow. It is worth the wait because it comes back every year once it is established.  Plant trillium on your property for protection and take pregnant women near trillium to absorb its blessings to help ensure an easy birth. Women wanting to have children can walk among the trillium for luck in conceiving.

Snowdrops

Snowdrops

Known as galanthus, the snowdrop is a member of the amaryllis family and there are about 20 species of them. They are a welcome sight in late winter or early spring, breaking through the snow to bloom beautifully, with their blossoms like a white teardrop at the end of their stems. This is why they are called snowdrops. They are native to parts of Europe and the Middle East and have naturalized in North America. Most snowdrops are woodland plants, but some grow in mountains and grasslands. They are small plants, typically growing up to six inches tall but one species of snowdrops, the giant snowdrop, can grow up to 16 inches tall.

The snowdrop was used as an antidote to certain poisons in ancient Greece and it is believed the snowdrop was the antidote used to counteract the poison Circe used in the Odyssey. Snowdrops symbolize hope because of the fact they bloom so early in the season, and they represent Persephone’s return to the earth from the Underworld. Snowdrops represent new beginnings and transformation. They symbolize the end of bad times and good times that are to come. It is believed that snowdrops produce their own heat, and literally melt snow, and they help thaw the ice and bring spring to the earth. It was said that an angel was compassionate of Adam and Eve when they were cast out of the Garden of Eden and made snowdrops grow from the barren earth to give them some hope.

Aquarians open themselves to new experiences and the snowdrop can act as encouragement. Carry a snowdrop blossom when you are nervous about making a change. Walk among the snowdrops in wintertime to be reminded that as the delicate snowdrop is believed to melt ice and snow, you can overcome any obstacle in your path. When times have been bad, carty dried snowdrop flowers in a bag to help bring in new times. Give snowdrops to somebody going through difficulties to give them hope and if fresh or dried snowdrops can’t be found, a portrait of them will work just as well. Plant snowdrops to keep their hopeful, transformative energy nearby. Read about manifesting new beginnings here: How to Manifest Your Life After Changes

Verbena

Native to Asia and the Americas, verbena is also called vervain and there are about 150 different plants in their family. Typically grown from seed, verbena blossoms come in different shades of red, purple, pink, yellow, and they can be multicolored or white. Various butterflies, moths, and bees are attracted to them for their nectar and some verbenas are sweetly perfumed. Some verbena plants get large, spreading as far as five feet. Verbena typically grows in summer, but there are varieties that grow early in spring and into late fall. They grow best in full sun and tolerate dry soil.

In ancient Rome, verbena was used to purify homes and it was laid across altars because it was sacred to the gods. It was called Hera’s Tears in ancient Greece. Early Christian folklore said the verbena was used on Jesus wounds to stop his bleeding after he was taken down from the cross. Egyptians said vervain was created from the tears the goddess Isis wept when Osiris died. It has been used in folk medicine to soothe anxiety and help treat sore throats. Some people believe it supports mental and emotional wellbeing.

Aquarians don’t always tell people this, but they can be nervous wrecks sometimes. This is because they stay busy accomplishing things that are important to them, and they have a lot of things they want to do. They seem to have boundless energy and unlimited capabilities to accomplish anything they set their minds to, but even they have limits. Sometimes, they just need to stop and relax, but it’s hard for them and thankfully verbena can help. Get some verbena essential oil and place it in an oil burner. Allow the relaxing scent of verbena to naturally relax you.

Fennel

Growing up to 8 feet tall, fennel is an herb with lovely yellow flowers and fern like leaves. It grows native to the Mediterranean and made its way through Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. It has also become naturalized across the United States and Canada. It is considered an invasive plant because it spreads so quickly, and it emits substances that make it impossible for other plants to grow alongside it. Despite how some people feel about it, fennel is used to make fennel seed, and fennel bulb, both of which are enjoyed in food. It is also used to flavor absinthe sometimes, although wormwood is a primary ingredient in absinthe.

Myths say Prometheus used fennel in a surprising way. He stole fire from the gods of Mount Olympus and gave it to human beings, but in order to do that he hid the fire in a stalk of fennel. Zeus was withholding fire and civilization itself from human beings and Prometheus stepped in, defying the gods and earning eternal punishment for it. Prometheus is credited as being a champion for humanity and giving us civilization and technology. Fennel is associated with strength and courage, but also protection. It can be used in folk medicine to soothe upset stomachs and is believed to help suppress appetite.

Aquarians share a personality characteristic with Prometheus. They do what they think is right no matter what other people say. That doesn’t mean it’s easy and it doesn’t mean they don’t get nervous when they know they will face opposition. Chew a few fennel seeds for courage or have a cup of fennel tea when you need a boost of bravery. Plant fennel outside your doors and underneath windows for protection. Slice fennel bulb into salad and take it along to eat when you know you will be surrounded by negative people, and it will help block any negative energy they may try to direct toward you. Naturalized Wildflowers

Aquarians know nature can never truly be tamed, but they understand deep down that human beings can cause a lot of damage to nature. Some people strip the native plants from their region in favor of asphalt jungles where no plants grow. Others seek to control which plants go into their spaces, and they import plants from around the world to make their garden an artificial environment. Aquarians care deeply about justice and helping the earth is one magical way that Aquarians can make a difference. Find out what plants grow native to your region and start planting those and go right ahead and pull up grass if you have to, and let your garden go native. You will notice the animals and insects start building safe homes for themselves because you will have established a healthy ecosystem where native life thrives.

Aquarians are people who work to control their destinies, and they seem to manage to do that effortlessly. Each Aquarian is a unique individual who is passionate about creating a better world and they enjoy every minute of doing it. They can plant a rose garden to keep their homes and lives filled with love, burn Nag Champa incense for purification, and use verbena essential oil for relaxation. Aquarians magic is strong and their magical zodiac flowers can make it stronger. Join us for an Astrological reading today: Online Psychic Readings
