What’s a Psychic Medium?
Psychic mediums are people who communicate with the dead or other spirits and help other people to have communications with them. They are known as mediums or spirit mediums. Psychic mediums have been attested to in ancient times. One example is found in the first book of Samuel in the Bible. Saul wanted to summon the spirit of the prophet Samuel and he consulted a woman known as the Witch of Endor for that. She helped to summon Samuel’s ghost. Through communication with Samuel, the Witch of Endor prophesied Saul’s defeat and that his kingship would be removed. She also prophesied that his army would be defeated. According to the story in the Bible all of these things came to pass.
In the 19th century, in the United Kingdom and the United States, spiritual mediumship became very popular and there were a lot of celebrities who supposedly communicated with spirits. The doctor and author Paschal Beverly Randolph was both controversial and well known for reading about spirit communication. He made stage performances as what was called a trance medium. He believed that entering a trance made him able to communicate with spirits better. Some trance mediums will go deep into trance and speak the words that they believe spirits are relaying to them. Other mediums will use something called automatic writing and they will write down the words that they feel they're being told. What Mediums Do
Mediums act as mediators between people and spirits. Psychic mediums will act as a psychic seer and speak to spirits for human beings and then relay back to people what spirits say. This can function as a normal conversation with the psychic medium, acting as a third party. Sometimes it takes a little bit of work for the medium to reach the spirit, and other times the very fact that the person who wants to talk to them reaches out to them makes them come through immediately.
Sometimes the medium has to make the communication by themselves. This is not because spirits don't want to talk to everybody. It's because not everybody understands what spirits are saying. For some mediums, the messages from spirits appear as a conversation in their mind. For others, they pick up on messages around them. Some mediums can hear messages in the wind. Others can tell by the behavior of certain animals like red cardinals that spirits are near. How to Tell if You Are a Medium
How many spirit mediums are there? A lot. Exactly how many, we will never know. However, there is a chance that you might be a spirit medium. You don't have to be a professional medium who helps other people for a living, but there are some signs that you're probably a spirit medium. If you sense the presence of spirits and you can hear the dead telling you their stories, you're a spirit medium. If you never feel alone even when there aren't people around you, then you might be a spirit medium. If you grew up talking to so-called imaginary friends, are drawn to spirits, or can actually see spirits you're probably a spirit medium.
You Sense Spirit Presences
Sensing the presence of spirits is the first sign that you're a medium. Some people can sense the presence of spirits as strongly as they can sense a living person. Other people sense the presence of spirits more strongly than they do living people. How do mediums sense spirit presences? That depends on the medium. Some mediums feel heat or cold and can tell by whatever the temperature is that there's a spirit nearby. Others can smell or hear spirits moving around. Spirits are living entities. They just don't have bodies. Like people, they will communicate with those who can understand what they're saying. You Never Feel Alone
